WEREWOLF BY NIGHT may see a sequel

If Everything Makes Sense, a sequel to Werewolf by Night may be made.

With director Michael Giacchino stating that he has “a lot of ideas” for the characters his MCU debut established, Werewolf By Night may see a sequel “if it all makes sense.”

In the latest Marvel “Special Presentation,” Ted (Man-Thing) and Jack (Werewolf by Night) are also introduced; together, they kind of make a double act. Despite the fact that they appear in a stand-alone film, Giacchino made it plain in an interview with IGN that he doesn’t necessarily perceive their collaboration as a one-off:

“I have a lot of ideas about what to do with them, and they go from left to right across the board. You can accomplish a lot with them. They did a wonderful job working together, in my opinion, and they genuinely seem to be friends.

It’s up to us to decide what we want to do right now. Giacchino notes that while he had previously concentrated on releasing his debut feature, he now has the time to consider what might follow after that: I don’t know which way it will turn out. I’m not certain. However, the most of our time had been spent working to finish this project. Now that it’s out the door, I believe we have some time to reflect on everything that we’ve accomplished and consider where we want to go. And we’ll see if everything makes sense.

After explaining that the film introduces the pair, Kevin Feige seems to have plans for their future. “a world that will ultimately play a significant role in the MCU’s future.” Marvel is drawn to this universe for several reasons, not the least of which being how surprisingly bloody it is.

This week, Werewolf By Night, a Halloween-themed Marvel treat, was released. It’s “a magnificent homage to the classic Universal monster pictures,” we wrote in a 9/10 review, and “it will keep you on the edge of your seat with a slow, creeping tone that nails the very best of vintage horror.”
