NFL scenes in Germany from Seahawks-Bucs game on Sunday

At the Allianz Arena, home of Bundesliga power Bayern Munich, the Seattle Seahawks and Tampa Bay Buccaneers will play in the NFL’s first-ever game in Germany on Sunday.
This season, the NFL has already played three games in Europe, all of which were held in London. On November 21, the San Francisco 49ers and Arizona Cardinals will play at Estadio Azteca in Mexico City to wrap up the league’s 2022 foreign series.

Seattle and Munich are nine hours apart in time, thus the Seahawks held two sessions in less than 24 hours. The team travelled on a charter jet for ten hours after their session in Seattle. After the Seahawks’ practise on Thursday in Germany, coach Pete Carroll said, “It feels like the longest day ever.

Seattle was outplayed and trailed 21-3 early in the fourth quarter in a game that might not have been that close if it weren’t for a puzzling Tampa Bay decision to have running back Leonard Fournette attempt a pass to Tom Brady that Seattle’s Tariq Woolen intercepted for his fifth interception of the year.

However, Seattle trimmed the deficit to 21-16 with two Geno Smith touchdown throws in a 4-minute span in the middle of the fourth quarter, sandwiched around a Brady interception by Cody Barton. The Seahawks appeared to be on the verge of fulfilling the NFL’s greatest goal for the inaugural game played at Allianz Arena by making it a true edge-of-your-seater. Seattle’s defence once more showed signs of weakness, allowing the Buccaneers to easily run out the remaining 3:58 of the game.

Seattle’s record now stands at 6-4 going into its bye week, which seems desperately needed after what was the Seahawks’ worst performance since a 27-7 loss at San Francisco in the second week of the season. The loss ended a four-game winning streak and dropped Seattle’s record.
